London Junior Ballet repertoire - Have I spelt that right?

my DS successfully auditioned for London Junior Ballet.  In the paperwork that has followed he has a compulsory ballet lesson for 2 hours and then a 45 minute break and then repertoire starting in September.  The repertoire class is optional but I was wondering if anyone knows if everyone does the class?  As he is only 8 I was wondering if it was frowned open to start with the lesson and then follow with the repertoire class in the spring term.

 

sorry if this doesn't make sense - I'm confusing myself!

My dd did both classes when she was 9 and nearly everyone did both classes ???? I hope this helps ????

I was wondering the same though my DD is twelve and she has not yet auditioned (just wondering hopefully for the future) as the repertoire may be a bit too expensive for us we were wondering whether to do it or not. Should we??

Im not sure I would do rep at 8, I think I would wait and see what their friends are doing if they are staying for rep. My DC went to Ljb and Lsb for 7 years and only did rep one year, when they were older and was given more demanding roles to learn.

 

Being allowed to do pointe with Judy Maden is very special so for girls I would be more inclined to spend money on pointe class.
