Jan McNulty
I've come across this announcement (made at 1 o'clock today) via Twitter: "Today we at Big Ballet UK are very happy to announce an exciting collaboration between Big Ballet UK and former English National Ballet soloist, Daniel Jones, who together are to form a new, inclusive ballet company driven by a love of ballet. Daniel Jones is a dancer, choreographer and film producer who has performed for five artistic directors at the English National Ballet over 20 years, twice being awarded the Kenneth MacMillan prize for choreography. In 2003 Daniel produced and choreographed the documentary ‘Men in Tights’ about a group of Newcastle ship builders who were given the opportunity to perform a Ballet for the very first time in their lives in front of their friends and family. And more recently, the warts-and-all depiction of the English National Ballet on the road in ‘Agony and Ecstasy: A Year with English National Ballet.’ This new collaboration is in its infancy but exciting plans are already being put in place to make inclusive dance truly open to everyone. Keep watching this space for more announcements in the near future. For more information please contact us at thebigballetuk@gmail.com"
