cornishprincess
well done to everyone. DD was due to be at Ballet West today but we had to cancel (family reasons). She is gutted. Feeling like a bad mother :-(
Kat09
Sorry to hear your news CP - I am sure that they will reschedule the audition - tell your dd not to worry.
Pups_mum
Sorry to hear that Cornishprincess. I hope they can fit her in on another day. Try not to feel guilty - I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose. It would have been a dreadful day to be travelling up there so maybe it would be better on another day anyway.
cornishprincess
Thank you. Driving would have been horrible. Trying not to feel guilty!!!! DD is being marvellous

dramascientist
We are very happy that DD has been offered a place at Hammond but she could only go with funding. Does anybody know whether you lose the registration fee of 300 pounds if you dont take up the offer, (DH is baulking at the cost!). Obviously we wont know about funding until after the funding audition and she still has some other auditions next week where she may be offered funding but doesnt get it at The Hammond, oh its a mine field already! Thanks Dramascientist
Picturesinthefirelight
Has it gone up? Sorry I don't know but perhaps ring the school & ask.
2dancersmum
Congratulations on the Hammond offer. £300 registration fee - ouch - that's a new one to me - feeling bad now as friends DD auditioned with your DD Dramascientist and I said doesn't cost anything to accept a place - oops. Bear in mind for Hammond that they do have a bursary scheme aswell as DADAs.
Picturesinthefirelight
I think we had to pay £60 last year. Nothing compared to the £3,200 we lost at her old school.
2dancersmum
Dramascientist - I would echo the advice to ring up and ask. Nothing is listed on their web page for registration fees for upper school - only varying amounts for lower school where the £300 is listed for overseas students. So if this fee has come as a surprise to you then I would check if it is applicable in your circumstances and if you pay it if it is refundable if your DD does not get funding. dramascientist
Thanks people! Maybe its 300 for us because we are overseas??? I guess I need to ring up and ask! Did your DDs friend also get offered a place 2Dancersmum? My DD will be interested to hear, I will let you know what happens when I speak with them. Picturesinthefirelight
Congratulations drama scientist I believe katymac is having a similar dilemma with regards to her dds offers for Italia & millennium.
dramascientist
Its okay I have spoken to the school and because she is a British National there is no registration fee, phew! dramascientist
Thanks Madhouse! 2Dancersmum I will tell DD about yor DDs friend's place, was it the girl who came with another friend? DD is asking. Thanks Dramascientist
2dancersmum
I believe she was there on her own. Her mum said she exchanged emails with a number of other girls there but did not know results of anyone else yet. Sorry if responses come through slow this end but my DD is already away at vocational school and her friend dances at different times to my DD locally so we rarely see each other these days. balletmadgirl
Just had a ' No Thankyou ' letter from RBS for my DD,following the audition on Sunday. That was quick compared to Tring! She will be disapointed but not surprised, considering the competition from all over the world.

Dancingdreams
We too paid the registration fees for Italia - but I understood from past applicants that it was non-refundable!! DS was fortunate enough to get a scholarship - which made the decision easier (however we had also paid up front for other auditions) and were lucky enough to get our money back on some of these as well!! It all helps..
sophika9899
Two invitations to Royal finals for the YDA girls. That's out of 5 girls who auditioned. Well done to them but also to the other three who also have finals from some of the top four schools.
