penelopesimpson
Can anyone give me a heads up on this? I have a fancy to see Wilton's having never been (is it good?) and what is the provenance of this event? Advice appreciated.
MargaretN7
It's a Jette Parker Young Artists opera performance. Just the 4 main characters, no chorus, and a small orchestra.

Wiltons is fascinating. it's recent restoration has only made it safe and improved the loos. The bar is cosy there is a sort of lounge and the theatre itself is quite large. Only thing against it is the acoustics are poor, certainly for plays, music might be a bit better. I'd probably avoid the gallery for listening. Certainly worth a visit. alison
I think I'd feel ill at ease walking back the way I'd come (past the flyover) at night, though. Presumably there are other routes?
Scheherezade
Wiltons is a wonderful venue but if last year's JPYA Oreste is anything to go by, be prepared for the worst excesses of regietheater. Characters with painted sacks over their heads, gratuitous and robotic mutilation ... Suffice it to say, it was so stomach churning it almost put my daughter off opera for life.
