John Mallinson
It's been announced that Trisha Brown died two days ago. There's an appreciation on her company's website. I remember with great pleasure the programme of works staged by Dance Umbrella at Tate Modern and the South Bank Centre in 2010. I was surprised and pleased to find what a sense of humour she had!

Ian Macmillan
The New York Times was off the mark on this very quickly indeed. There's an Obit by Alastair Macaulay, plus a rehash of some tributes from colleagues dating from 2010: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/20/arts/dance/trisha-brown-dead-modern-dance-choreographer.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fdance&action=click&contentCollection=dance®ion=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=1&pgtype=sectionfront https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/20/arts/dance/5-artists-on-working-with-trisha-brown.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fdance&action=click&contentCollection=dance®ion=rank&module=package&version=highlights&contentPlacement=2&pgtype=sectionfront
alison
How sad for her family to lose both parents within such a short space of time. My deepest condolences to them and to all who mourn her. I didn't get to see that much of her work, but think I by and large enjoyed what I did see.
