munchkin16
I need a new skirt for class and I'm looking for a ballet skirt that is flattering if you aren't completely skinny on the bottom. I've got just a plain black wrap skirt but I'm thinking something softer might be more flattering? Any suggestions?

Jan McNulty
Not that I am a dancer but I especially like the Pansy Bloom Bloom one!
Pas de Quatre
The style known as SAB skirt (School of American Ballet) is very flattering. They can be bought ready made or there are various tutorials online. They drape and hide the hips much better than wrap skirts. Just do a search online. SwaybackSapphire
DD has a drawer full of Love Lily skirts, they are just stunning. Ruth at Love Lily is extremely helpful and will bend over backwards to accommodate any query. Xx I see big things happening for them ????
Lily_883
I love the skirts from this Etsy shop! Very flattering cut: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/FlicFlacDanceSkirts I'm also a fan of Flic Flac skirts. Beautiful designs and reasonably priced. I recently stumbled across this page and have just ordered some fabric and ribbon in an effort to make a skirt of my own. My sewing skills leave a lot to be desired, so I'll be extremely impressed if I end up with something wearable!
Loulabelle
Lily_83 please let us know how you get on? I make tutus with my eyes shut (Not exactly but you get what I mean ) but am defeated by these skirts as they always seem to grow somewhere along the line. I've not made one that my DD will wear yet!

Blossom
Just ordered from Flic Flac and from Love Lily thanks to this thread. Gorgeous skirts, beautifully packaged too and both so lovely to deal with, especially making sure that there would be enough fabric as I'm size 12 and making sure the skirts weren't too short as I'm in my late 30s! Really happy with my order and nothing as pretty in the multitude of dance shops around Drury Lane...
