Hi all DD has now auditioned twice for LCB and had a recall but never a yes and her current dance school only hold performances once every three years. She would love to have more experiences on stage and she has done one ballet competition. I've searched on the Internet for ballet performances she could audition for which involve children but can't find very many. We just keep reading about LCB EYB and NYB .Does anyone know of any (mostly based in London and specifically ballet) performances she could audition for??

As well as MTB, there are others - if you google "youth ballet companies uk" they come up.

The reason you read so much about LCB/EYB/NYB on here is that they are probably the most well known. EYB in particular travels countrywide. As Swayback says, MTB is excellent but Midlands based. If you can get to Herts there is Three Counties Youth ballet, Duchy Ballet in the South West, etc.

Or click on the tag "Youth Ballet" for a list of threads. :-)

My DD who is non vocational has auditions for SYB twice and LCB once. She had no success with LCB whereas both times was offered really nice parts with SYB, and performed with them the second time. The standard is lower, but then it was lovely that she had a good part in the ballet, they also did a few small different styles which was fun. The people involved were lovely and DD really enjoyed it. I got the impression all those who auditioned probably got some parts, the main parts went to some who were pulled out to do extra. All took place the London end of Surrey.

Afraid not, we're North Hampshire which makes it logistically difficult. DD took part in Alice in Wonderland, also auditioned previously but pulled out. Would love her to do again, but very difficult with the distance, last time a friend took part so we aimed to share, but then that didn't always work as DD tend to be required to stay later. Yes looks like it is Midsummer Nights Dream. Wish they had a Hampshire version!
