FUNDRAISING DRIVE - THANK YOU!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!  The purpose of this note is, first and foremost, to extend a huge thank you to all those who have donated so generously to our forum fundraising appeal.  I am delighted to tell you that £3,721 was raised from 245 donors.  Adding on what was left from the previous fundraising drive, and subtracting costs levied by PayPal, we now have a total amount of £3,892 in the forum trust account. This means that we should be able to run the forum for about another four years without having to launch a fundraising drive, depending on the vagaries of the dollar/pound exchange rate and the level of fees we are charged for hosting the site.

In addition to thanking you for your generosity, I would also, on behalf of all the moderators and techies, like to thank you all for making this forum the lively, informative and fun place that it is.

We look forward to the next four years of BalletcoForum!

          With warmest wishes,

          Simonetta Dixon (Sim)

That's very good news.  May I in turn thank all those who give up their  time and of their expertise to keep the forum running so smoothly, as well as those who step in where/if necessary and help to attract such a wonderful cross section of contributors who improve our knowledge of ballet and dance as well as encouraging the lively and (mostly) friendly exchange of views.  Long may it last!

Interesting facts indeed!

So basically about a third of posters contributed. Well done folks for keeping this great forum going. Thank you moderators for looking after us all and giving up so much of your time to do so.

Huge congrats to all on the success of the fundraising drive.

Re lurkers and others, back in the Balletco days I looked at the forum stats and concluded that around 0.5% of visitors to the forum were posters. That's a lot of unrepresented views. That said the forum seems pretty vibrant at the moment and that despite the coming of Twitter and Facebook etc.
