  1. Hi All, Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of the Master Audition in Croatia? My DD is looking at auditioning and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about attendance, format, organisation. I know there are varying opinions whether large open auditions which charge a fee are a constructive route to employment for the majority or just a cattle market/cash cow for companies. Her vocational school as a rule does not provide any individual help to students, no private auditors, no contacting companies to recommend students. I suppose it is possible they do this secretly for for the chosen 1 or 2 students in a year, but we wouldn't know as she is def not the favourite 😉 I appreciate every dancer is individual, no "journey" is the same so they must plan and manage their own career. But a little help to get into an audition would be useful...seeing as they still have to do the work when in the room! As it is difficult to get auditions, maybe such a large scale event is worth visiting? Or is it just a quick route to empty pockets and heartache at the back of a packed dance hall?
  2. Press Release & Calendar Listing For Immediate Release June 9, 2017 Dance & Dancers ART PRODUCTIONS will be holding GRAND AUDITION for professional dancers and graduate students from 17 – 25 years of age, on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th of February 2017 at the Teatre-Auditori Sant Cugat in Barcelona, Spain. GRAND AUDITION aims to give professional dancers and graduate students the opportunity to plan their futures and to find their home company. It provides a unique opportunity for dancers to audition for multiple ballet companies at one time and in one place. D&D has invited Artistic Directors from world leading ballet companies to come together at GRAND AUDITION, where they will observe all the participants in a ballet class on the day one. Selected dancers will be asked to perform prepared variations on the second day. If a dancer meets the criteria and standards required by one of the artistic directors, he/she will be offered a place within that ballet company. David Makhateli, former principal dancer of the Royal Ballet and Director of D&D said: “With GRAND AUDITION, we are contributing to a better and more efficient way of recruitment for ballet companies. For young dancers, GRAND AUDITION offers an exceptional opportunity to demonstrate their talent in front of several Artistic Directors for a fraction of the cost of individual auditions.”We at Grand Audition very grateful for support of our partners: Teatro-Auditori Sant Cugat, Gaynor Minden, Dinamica Ballet, Dance Europe,Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) www.grandaudition.net
