  1. Hi, feeling quite new to all of this. One of my daughters took the CBA audition for age 8-10 on the 23rd of October. They mentioned at the audition they'd aim to have results with us within the week. It will be two weeks on Sunday. Is there anyone who has heard results from this audition? Thanks!
  2. I’ve just seen that CBA have added an audition in October for 8-10 year olds. https://www.tringpark.com/classical-ballet-academy/ https://www.tringpark.com/audition/classical-ballet-academy-23-october/
  3. Hi, My daughter has recently auditioned for both these associate programmes. We've just heard that she was successful in her BBO Scholars audition and are still waiting to hear from Tring. If she is lucky enough to be offered both, she will have to choose as the lessons clash. Does anyone have experience of either? Or both? Which would you choose? We'd be grateful for any insights and/or advice. Thank you
  4. Just wondering if anyone has any idea of times for CBA. I’ve seen the dates on their website but wondering what times the classes are. Thanks
  5. Hello there Has anyone who auditioned on 28 November heard back? It has been two weeks....
  6. Anyone who has registered for Tring Park’s Classical Ballet Academy Audition this November - please can you advise if you received any confirmation upon registering or have had any communication about the audition from them? All I received was a third party payment email receipt but have had nothing else. Have tried emailing them with no joy. Thank you
  7. Hello everyone! I am new on this forum but have found some threads very helpful so decided to put this question to all the knowledgeable people here. I have just received the Tring online audition guidelines for March 2021. My daughter is only 7 years old and starting to work on RAD Grade 2. I forwarded the audition requirements (for the video) to her teacher who said that some exercises are more like Grade 4 syllabus. Does anyone know if the video requirements are different for different age groups or are they the same for everyone? I am trying to establish if a 7 year old is expected to know such complicated content ... then we might not even try. Thank you!
  8. Hello everyone, I have a pupil auditioning for Year 5 JAs and also Tring CBA Associates. Communication from the RBS has been pretty good, but I have heard nothing from Tring. Does anyone know how they plan to run their auditions and when? Thank you!
  9. Hello, please excuse me if a same or similar thread exists. I’m just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or knowledge on comparisons between Tring CBA and Ballet Boost, if indeed it’s fair to make a comparison. This would be for my DS who is applying for Y5. He’s been accepted for BBA London via video audition which is excellent news. However, Tring CBA audition is now on early September. I believe they both run on the same days. It feels like a very long time to wait for a Tring CBA audition, which is entirely understandable. But if there was success with Tring, it’s incredibly short notice to make a decision. Of course, there is no guarantee of success at audition for Tring CBA, it’s purely hypothetical. I’m just wondering how other people might have thought about a similar situation where a place is available now, but there’s a long wait to audition for something that runs on the same dates.
  10. Hi! Just a post to see if anyone else is attending on Sunday for Tring CBA or whether anyone has any advise for the audition please? (I’ve read on here clean ballet shoes & convertible tights are a must)! My daughters 10 (new to ballet (1 year) & has been lucky enough to recently be accepted onto TLBC associate programme which she absolutely loves but she has this dream of eventually going to vocational school, so we’re auditioning for Tring & MA (in addition to her current associate) as these have a school attached. I’ve said let’s go for the experience & fun, she’s very excited! Any advise greatly received x
  11. Hello, does anyone have any feedback/opinions on Tring Park CBA? My daughter is in year 5 and would be group 2 i think.
  12. Is anyone else auditioning soon? Dds are 14 and 12 and are advanced and intermediate. Yet they have been allocated groups 1 and 2 which on here would appear to be for much younger dancers. I have emailed to query but then thought maybe they had swapped the groups around.
  13. Hi all, DD had her first annual assessment today at Tring Park’s classical ballet academy (she is in group 5). Just hoping that perhaps one of you old-timers could help me out - when and how do we get the results? Are they given them in class/letter/ email? Also it would be great to know roughly how long it takes. Thanks!
  14. Hello, I couldn't see one started, so hope it's ok to start a CBA audition 2018 thread. I'm already on the Junior Associates train with my 9 year old son, but now my little 6 year daughter (Nearly 7) wants to give it a try. She loves her ballet just like her brother and is auditioning for CBA this year on 10th June. I always found a thread lovely, helpful and supportive to read when your child is auditioning for these programmes. X
  15. Tring CBA Group 1-3 uniform leotard for sale, lilac. Size C2. Comes up a bit small for age in my opinion when using the size guide on the official supplier's website - we had to send the C1 size back when we ordered it. My daughter (small in height for her age) wore it from age 9.5 - 10.5. Very good condition. Was £33.50 new. No 'lavender' belt supplied but you can buy these at various dance shops/online. Adjustable straps still have lots of extra room in case you need to reposition or re-sew (the leotards come with the straps unattached so you can customise fit). £15 incl. postage and packaging.
  16. My dd is auditioning on the 17th for the CBA. It will be her second attempt! She has improved and matured so much since last year, I will be keeping my fingers crossed. Just wondered if any of you might know how many places there could be on offer? Many thanks
  17. Hi all Was hoping I could gain some knowledge in the world of Associates. DD attended Move It last weekend and was scouted for a free audition for LSC Associates. She’s very keen on the training there however but it’s over an hour to get there. We live much nearer Tring Park so we’re also considering auditioning for Associates there? DD also thoroughly enjoys Tring’s holiday courses. If anyone has experience with either programmes it would be great if you can share. Also I believe TPA is after school and on a Saturday - should she get in can she just go on the Saturday or is it firmly encouraged to go during the week as well? Thanks!
  18. Hi everyone! My DD is auditioning for Tring Dance Associates this weekend and I was curious whether there is any difference between this and the CBA Associates? I know that for dance you may have the options of choosing tap, jazz, modern as well as classical. However if we just choose classical is that the same as CBA? Thanks!
  19. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has received the results of the CBA assesments yet?
  20. Complete newbie here and my apologies if this has been discussed before or if I am posting this on the wrong section but I would just be really grateful for some advice. My daughter (just turned 7 last month) will be auditioning for Tring Park's CBA in November. She has never auditioned for anything before and we know that the CBA is extremely selective so she has been duly prepped that it will be a challenge to get a spot. She just loves ballet and although she's only currently in Grade 1, she is often told that she has a natural ability for it. I understand from the letter that the audition will be like a class with flexibility test. I was just after some tips on what to expect. She was told to wear her usual ballet wear but I was wondering whether Tring Park would prefer socks or convertible tights? Hair in a bun? Leather, satin or canvas ballet shoes? Full or split sole? She will be in Group 1. Thanks so much in advance for any guidance.
  21. Hi, we just came back from my dd's Tring CBA audition. When we were in the waiting room with lots of other children a few of them were doing stretches etc. and it was very obvious that one particular group of kids from the same dance school were of a higher level than most. It made me wonder how different children around the same age can have such different levels of dance. Clearly it must depend on the school they attend? I guess I'm wondering about how you know that you're paying for a good solid training for your child (on a 'hobby' level for starters as it seems they can't get in to somewhere like RBS or Tring unless they have been taught well in the first place)... My dd said the CBA auditions was the best ballet class she's ever had but noted that quite a few things they were asked to do she's never been taught before, surely it can't be that her school is teaching her very well? She's 9 btw and have been doing ballet for 2-3 years. We're not 'new' to the performing industry as she's not long finished a year in a popular West End show but dance is not her strongest so we're trying to work out how to help her progress best. I would love it if schools like Tring published a list of dance schools from which children successfully get into associate programs or maybe there is such a list? Any thoughts/help would be very much appreciated.
  22. Hi, my 13 year old dd is auditioning for CBA and we got our audion pack today. Are any other dc's auditioning and if so, which group will they be in and how old are they? Thanks x
  23. Not sure if there's already a thread for this - couldn't seem to find it! was just wondering if anyone had applied for the Tring Classical Ballet Academy and heard anything back yet? Had an email at the beginning of this week saying info would be going out in a few days but not heard since...
  24. Hi everyone! Hopefully someone will have been here before. Tring CBA assessments will be 15th May but DD can't attend as she has the final EYB rehearsal from 11-5 that Sunday and the actual show is the following weekend! Have emailed with apologies etc but has anyone else had to miss their assements and did you arrange an alternative day or will it have any bearing on moving up in September? So typical that up till now she has 100% attendance and the one day she really needs to be there, it clashes!
  25. Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but have read some of the topics before so I decided to make an account! I have two dd's: dd1 aged 13 and dd2 aged 8. Although dd2 is more classical than dd1, she would like to audition for the Tring park classical ballet academy. So my question is: should a 13 year old wear socks or tights? (She would be comfortable wearing both as at her local dance school she sometime wears socks in the summer.) Thanks x
