  1. Dancersdiary, at one time a dancer in the company, is an official photographer for the Royal Ballet and is often in the stalls circle standing area taking performance photos. He always explains to whoever he is standing by, is quiet and unobtrusive, and I've never found him distracting. His photographs are much appreciated.
  2. I have 3 grandchildren, with available choice being BRB's offerings at their local theatre. For the eldest, it was any dance with classical type music. The middle one, untouched by any of the standard fare, but a visit to ROH and a Wayne McGregor triple, yes! The youngest, dance and drama and music, and at age 6 totally immersed in, gripped by, Romeo and Juliet, reenacted next day with her dolls. And, at a subsequent Fille mal Gardee, captivated by Alain and the love of his life, his red umbrella. They are all different, ready for different things at different ages. You have to know the child, and even then they can still surprise you.
  3. I had a ticket to attend the event. I have assumed that the event now having been cancelled that your streaming test will be cancelled, unless ROH is replacing it with something else for your test
  4. The cameras are there for the Magri-Corales performances, so extra prices for camera restriction seats
  5. Yes, I called box office too, while continuing to book tickets for non Don Q performances. She began booking for me, but then had message and told me Don Q had been taken off sale while problem sorted
  6. Is Untitled, 2023 shrinking? I wasn't at Thursday's performance, but when I looked at the cast list there were only 18 listed, no Anna Rose who'd danced with Melissa on the first night, and no Ashley Dean who replaced her. Now, for the Saturday evening performance, it's 17, there's no Melissa either
  7. Cinderella 3rd May, preferably SCS. Wanted for a friend. Please post here and PM me
  8. The first time I saw Cinderella, 29th December, 1958, Fonteyn and Somes, the step sisters were Moyra Fraser and Margaret Hill. If assume Ashton was involved with that, then he was casting women early on.
  9. Are you still looking for a ticket for 18th of March evening? I have SCS d15 for sale
  10. Dispatch Duet was a specially made film, not a straight recording of the main stage performance. I thought it worked rather well.
  11. The first time I saw it was Fonteyn and Somes, with Moyra Fraser and Margaret Hill as the step-sisters. Seen it many times since, and, with no qualms, am greatly looking forward to seeing it again.
  12. I had it from Judith Mackrell via her Twitter account. I see Janet McNulty found the RPS tribute and posted the link
  13. So sad to hear that Bob Lockyer has died. He made an enormous contribution to the filming of dance. Thanks and RIP, Bob.
  14. Delighted that we are getting Ashton's Cinderella, been wishing for it for a while. Thanks, KOH. Looking forward to discovering who gets cast as who/what. My first Cinderella was Margot Fonteyn.
  15. And buried away on Talking Pictures, Freeview 81, Boxing Day 11.50am, Fred Astaire and Leslie Caron in Daddy Long Legs.
  16. They said it will be shown later, I suspect near the time of the Giselle streaming
  17. I took it that the cinema and streaming ones so far announced are for the period one section of the season, other periods to follow later. At least that is what I have assumed, I hope correctly.
  18. The National Theatre has sent an email to its Friends about this. This is a premiere which has been specially filmed during lockdown, with the assistance of Sky Arts. I assume that's why it is getting these three showings
  19. Kevin said this evening that this Friday, 2nd April, will be Symphonic Variations. 75 year anniversary.
