  1. It was announced as part of the Sadlers Wells season announcement back in January:
  2. Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker is a repeat of the Christmas Day 2022 showing on BBC Two.
  3. Previously on BBC Four on Boxing Day 2020, so you may have already recorded it. Yes, it includes Carousel.
  4. Unless someone presses the wrong button (😅) it will be the recording made this year of Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty. The previous 2013 recording was last shown on New Years Day 2017.
  5. Sunday 29th January 2023: BBC4 has the BRB 'Don Quixote' from 7.45pm and a repeat of the Ann-Marie Duff 'Margot' from 9.45pm. Usual 'Come Dancing' repeat from 7pm as well.
  6. Talking Pictures full name is Talking Pictures TV, hence often shortened to TPTV.
  7. No it wasn't screened. The press release for the dance season was just before Covid measures started in the UK. Lots of TV schedules were changed with many new things held back to cover gaps at a later date, so maybe we will get it soon.
  8. Surely it will be the 9th October Gala for ballet. The fuller press release from the BBC says "Katie Derham presents The Royal Opera All Star Gala, recorded in September, will star Aigul Akhmetshina, Charles Castronovo, Gerald Finley, Lisette Oropesa, Sonya Yoncheva, and Vito Priante performing much-loved classics; whilst The Royal Ballet All Star Gala, which was filmed in October and is presented by Anita Rani will reunite the full Royal Ballet Company with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House for the first time in seven months" Also Matthew Bourne's The Red Shoes on BBC2. 9. English Premier League and Championship footballers can do non-contact training in groups of no more than 5 if they have tested negative in the tests that respective organising body have paid for and all the protocols that the organising body have put in place are adhered to. League One and Two players can only train individually with social distancing as there is currently no testing programme for them.
  10. There are some posts over the last week about the POB Swan Lake on the Dance on Sky Arts... thread.
  11. My guess is that is should be Srepanova but she pulled out of performances in late January and they are not certain if she will be ready in time.
  12. Northern Ballet's 'Victoria' mentioned upthread is on BBC Four on Sunday 15th December at 11pm.
  13. The filmed Romeo & Juliet starring Francesca Hayward and William Bracewell Romeo & Juliet: Beyond Words is on BBC Two on New Years Day at 5.30pm. A repeat of Dancing the Nutcracker: Inside the Royal Ballet is on BBC Two on Christmas Day at 12 noon. Essential Royal Ballet is on BBC Four on 29th December at 7pm. Described as Katie Derham introduces a spectacular selection of highlights from an incredible past decade at the Royal Ballet.
  14. Romeo & Juliet: Beyond Words is on BBC Two on New Years Day at 5.30pm.
  15. It is on My5, part of their Pluto TV offering.
  16. The price seats at theatres relate to their sightlines. Birmingham Hippodrome has better sightlines than most theatres and so doesn't feel the need to offer the reduced prices that many other theatres do.
  17. There is also a documentary on Gwen Verdon on BBC4 this Saturday 3rd August at 10.30pm : Merely Marvelous - The Dancing Genius of Gwen Verdon.
  18. It is an extended version that is being premiered this year, about an hour longer.
  19. Previously discussed here with a couple of names supplied by Swissballetfan: Swan Lake- World Cup
  20. The Dance Hub building expansion is physically around and over the current BRB facilities and is for the Dance Hub, an organisation independent from BRB.
  21. All the recent ROH ballets televised on the BBC such as Woolf Works, Frankenstein, Carmen and beyond are new productions. Whether this is because it is easier to convince BBC Arts editors that new is more arty or the ROH is keener to show off its newer works I don't know. However Floss is certainly right to raise the factor of live streaming. With The Nutcracker in particular, the annual live screening in cinemas will certainly be a factor in not having a television screening as well to potentially reduce the cinema audience.
